Set along a lovely promenade in the midst of 800 acres of Spanish moss-draped oak and cypress along the Suwannee River, SOSMP is one of the most beautiful live music venues in the country. Not long from today Suwanee Hulaween festivalgoers will be ready for the return of Spirit Lake – an artistic glowing menagerie of multimedia metalwork, paintings, sculptures, light projections and live performances that morphs the prehistoric-looking forest into a vivid dream-like space. With no overlapping sets throughout the weekend, attendees have plenty of time to wonder the mystical campgrounds abuzz with costumed fans and interactive theme camps.
Purple Hat Productions and Silver Wrapper have set the bar pretty high for the coming years. It really doesn’t get any better than a Cheesy halloween and joining SCI in the swamplands is an eclectic variety of artists from bluegrass and organic electronic to experimental world fusion and soul-funk including Thievery Corporation, Big Gigantic, Beats Antique, The New Deal, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Greensky Bluegrass, EOTO, Conspirator and much more.
In addition to breathtaking visual art, the festival will host yoga classes, a silent disco and a disc golf tournament. The combination of this gorgeous outdoor venue, stellar lineup and unique themes is the recipe for an unforgettable Halloween night. Tickets are only a little more than $200, so click here to come tap into the eternal ether with us and let your freak flag fly high at Hulaween this year!
A truly unique attribute of Hulaween is the “Afterlife” themed surprise-filled three-set party on Halloween Day. The festival encourages all guests to interact and become party of the show by dressing up and acting out their answer to the question, “what do YOU want to be in the afterlife?”. The festival seeks to inspire attendees to tap into mythology, philosophy, religion and the supernatural in order to transcend into the next physical realm this activity.
